Timmo's gallery

Postby Timmo » Sun Nov 10, 2013 11:41 am

Now we are settled in to the new home I'll put up a gallery. It's all old stuff but perhaps other members could start to populate their galleries again.

Great stuff Timmo. I love the new basing on the ECW figures- simple, but effective.

Excellent painting!
The camels are great, and I also like the bottom two pictures.
Very well sculpted also.

I've always thought those camels were fantastic.

As ever, Timmo, your natural low contrast style always yields pleasing results.

Thanks chaps! Some ABs, old pics but I still think they came out ok.

30 year old ships. I made these aged 16 in the days before etched sails were available. I made my own. They have aged badly due to using enamels and silk thread.

One last pirate picture and that's enough of my back catalogue. Anything I now add to the gallery will be previously unseen.

My particular favourite are the blokes in grey blue waiting to have beer pots stuck in their hands. Those ships are bloody magnificent, how big are they?

Paul,

Well I've seen your work, John B. pointed me towards it some months ago and I think you're both masterful painters of ABs. I very much look forward to seeing your french. I hope to show more of mine at some point. I'm just not very comfortable taking pictures, it's not something I enjoy doing.

Grizzy as RTL wrote – C17th boy band, 'The Levellers'.

Ships are 1/1200 scale Skytrex Triton models. Sails were all made form lead foil of the top of wine bottles. I made these when I was 16. I'm going to do some more sometime using GHQ hulls and Langton masts and sails. I've been working out some new techniques that I think will give a pleasing result in rather less time than these took.

Beautifully done. They look like display models rather than gaming pieces.

All Timmo's stuff looks like display models rather than the crude daubs with which I game.

I love all of your work, but those camels are truly wonderful to behold. I have a box full of Perry camels that I have been afraid to start on because I had no idea of how to paint camels. The tiger skin shabraque on the AB figure is amazing too.
