Lovely! Well done.

So those are the last; what's next on the Napoleonics menu, then- if any?

Thanks!

At the moment I'm building and painting 1/72 scale WW1 aircraft for our Canvas Eagles game.
I built and painted 3 SE5a's of 74 squadron.
Thus far an Albatross DVa and a Pfalz DIIIa. In painting 2 Fokker DVII's and a Fokker DR1 all in Jasta 18 colors, Raben's Ravens.

In the que are some Burgundians to finish off my 28mm Front Rank army.
Then I was planning on starting a Late Roman army.

Cheers,
Thomas

I've always liked Calpe Prussians and you have done a great job on them. If I had the space and the will to paint them those chaps would be top of my list.

If the aircraft turn out as well as your Napoleonic Prussians, I want to see photos.

I've had precisely one game of aerial combat: a demo game at a show.
Great fun. Your planes are so tempting.

I'm not surprised that the Albatross pilot is pointing upwards in alarm! Nice work all round.

Showing my age a bit here.
I fondly remember playing WWI Aerial at the SEEMS club decades ago using the old Paragon rules and Airfix models -or anybody else's in scale- with washing pegs fixed underneath and lengths of marked dowel. I am sure that in one of my rules drawers I have a copy of them. Anyone else remember them?

I remember playing Richthofen’s War from Avalon Hill, until the counters were almost worn out.

This WW1 Air game is Canvas Eagles, free on the Internet. We use hexagon bases and 8 section car antennas, to denote height.

Lovely eye candy.

I have always had a great interest in WW1 aircraft; I think growing up with Snoopy and the Red Baron cartoons had a lot to do with it. Apparently, my dad once brought me along to a Legion dinner, where we had the privilege of being introduced to Raymond Collishaw- although I was way too young to remember it now. Certainly dad was to fuel the flames of my interest with presents of books and model kits.

I have a number of the 1/144 Wings of War/Glory aircraft. The scale worked well on our available table area, and we've always enjoyed the games as they were quick and fun before and after the main event. What always put me off was the limited availability of the models; the hoop-jumping required to obtain them, and the ridiculous prices they go for once the sets are pulled off the market.

Just as an example, the SE-5a was, along with the Sopwith Camel, the backbone of the RFC/RAF in 1917/18, so of course there were lots of them; I'd want flights of them to roam over the wargaming table. Yet good luck finding the WoW kit in any quantity, and at anything like a reasonable price.

I would've been much happier if they had allowed the option of getting the models unpainted in simple kits, to be put together like any other aircraft models, and that way I could've painted them up however I liked using after-market decals.

I would have liked loved to have met Raymond Collishaw! I was in grade 12 when he passed.
Enfilade, the big convention in Olympia Washington will come up at the end of May.
There’s a large bring and buy, I can look for some Aircraft for you?
