Hi Gavin,
Not that I'm anyone to give advice but the shako covers are done with a block in of Vallejo black grey, highlighted with coat de arms dark grey and regular black used to pick out the recesses and visor. The matt varnish brings it all together.
Cheers

Hope life is treating everyone well!

P.S. also is the pic size ok or should they be displayed smaller on the forum?

Those pics are fine Paul. They are fabulous, especially love the ADC. Might have to pinch that idea :)

At least you don't have Tango competing here with you to put up your own blog pics :)

Since it's been a hot topic here recently, how did you paint the AdC's white uniform?

Hi,
Thanks very much guys,

Hi John,
I never even noticed Tango had posted over on TMP, it's no bother, I get a lot of joy from painting and anyone who thinks my figures are good enough to post on forums is welcome to, plus it saved me doing it.

Hi RtL,
The ADC uniform was simply gradually built up from a coat d' arms mid and light grey and using foundry whites. I can't remember exactly but done subtly.

Hi Ken and Valleyboy,
Thanks, much appreciated!!!

Hi Bryce,
Sorry we must have been posting at the same time and I missed replying to you . Thanks! As you know your 28's have been a big inspiration to myself!!!

Best
Paul

Thanks El Grego,
Where would you find the time? ;)

If spent an enjoyable few hours looking through your blogs, lovely stuff!

Ooh, I'm late to the party, as usual.

Lovely work, that man! Love the cleanly-defined lace on those hussars.

Good colour judgement in highlighting the black without turning everything grey, too. I find that difficult.
