Haggis Rampant Campaign Game I

Postby Atheling » Wed Dec 09, 2015 9:20 pm

I managed to get in my first game of Haggis Rampant viz Lion Rampant suing the Late Medieval lists. There are about eight of us and we have two tables (6' x4') to play on at present so we're often fielding two half retinues which was the case last Thursday.

The scenario was The Messanger, which basically amounted to us acting as an escort a VIP messenger across the length of the table. From one diagonal to the next. Basically I can cut a long story short and say that we failed miserably in our task. lord Cameron will not be amused. We;ll. he proably isn't too bothered as he only lost some of the sack clad oafs that he had entrusted to the task at hand :)

You can read all about the fun and frolics (and listen to me have a little moan!) on my Late MedievalLa Journee Blog here:

All a bit yellowy (light bulb?) but very nice looking none the less.

Light bulb and the amount of yellow within the paint on the playing surface. Believe it or not the white balance was on! :? :D

Ah ha! In one of my previous incarnations I was a theatre technician. Most people don't realise most "white light" isn't.
Old fashioned, incandescent bulbs are decidedly yellow, newer LED ones are often blue. These give off all sorts of subliminal messages (day/night, warm/cool).
I could bore you to death with CRI (ColourRendering Index) which rates this but I've already gone on too long.

Your shots are of a fantastic battle fought at midday in a typically sunny English day. :)

I don't think I'd get bored! I did Fine Art and you can forget the colour wheel..... let me introduce you to the multi layers colour sphere ;) :)

Thanks Donald, I try to document all the games I play but I have to admit it's getting a bit samey as the Islemen die in droves in each game

We can change our retinue every season, a random number of games, so there might be some substantial changes! Gascon Allies anyone?
