Ayton 2014 Grenouisse Ascendant

Postby battleeditor » Fri Nov 15, 2013 10:22 pm

Just getting a fresh thread going here after the lockdown of the folder in WD3.3

It's time to start finding out who would like to take part in the 18th century 2014 imagi-nations game, both the grizzled veterans and any new participants.

Remember that this game will be back on continental Europa — I'll be giving you some backstory over the coming weeks — but it ought to be fairly evident that having taken a bit of a drubbing in Byzarbia, and having lost the services of the Duke of Braunschweig, Grenouisse might now feel somewhat nervous about hanging on to its ill-gotten gains — or even maintaining its own borders...

So, if you're in, I need to know:
Your real name, address and email address
The name of your imagi-nation
A full breakdown of the forces you intend to bring: unit name, type and strength in stands/miniatures
The rules will, as usual, be my Shot, Steel and Stone (with the Ayton Amendments)

Please DO NOT send this info via PM : email me at henry at henryhyde dot co dot uk with "Grenouisse Ascendant" in the subject line.

Ta!

Hello our Henry,

I'll be there and I'll bring whatever bits of the Gateway forces you want, but it's too early to say what the ORBAT might be. Do you intend to restrict troops numbers and types or is this going to be a free for all?

I'll be attending with the Army of the Inquisition/Darien and will send a force list without camels, elephants or airships :(
If need be I can bring a few regiments of the forces of Spaniola in case someone wants to attend but has no troops!

Brigadier Groanagain acknowledges your kind invitation to the Gunpowder Ballet and will bringing his now expanded waistline/forces, now residing in the small state of Bierbrouwerij. Such is his fame and record in our previous dances that he may well have additional forces to be loaned to titled fellows in a state of indigence.

Although currently based in Upper Nilestan I confidently expect Orlov's Expeditionary Corps to make their way there, aided by a contingent of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Granprix. These may become the People's Loyal United Grenouissards if Henry puts me on the other side.

I don't hold with all this revisionist twaddle about Vikings only being interested in "World Music" and farmers markets.

Medetia is ready to march, although the final levy isn't absolutely confirmed yet. It won't be fun without a desperate deadline to work to. I probably don't even have time to do a Kanban now.

List sent, no nellies, pigs, flamethrowers etc as yet. I'm clearly not taking this seriously. I could add a war mammoth or mount the Cossacks on unicorns for +1 attack when charging.

The Savage Swans and the forces of Altefritzenburg shall be returning to the fray after their adventures on the Dark Continent. Although the recruiting camps are full to capacity there is doubt that all new troops will be battle ready in time for the campaign. And there is also concern that the Sultan and his troops will join them as well.

A full order of battle should be available in the New Year when the recruiting officers submit their returns...

I put in an order to Warbases yesterday for to base up my cavalry and skirmishers. I've just done a count of the unbased horses. I should have ordered three packs, not one.
