Christmas loot

Postby Stavka » Mon Dec 25, 2017 9:36 am

Merry Christmas, all!

This Christmas morning the postie came to the door with a box from The Plastic Soldier Company. This is the beginning of my 15mm desert war project; Operation Battleaxe in 15mm using Blitzkrieg Commander II.

The A-9's and A-10's will be joined by one more squadron of three Zvezda A-13 cruisers I ordered locally, and that will give me the 2nd RTR. The Matildas will give close support to some Indian troops, to be acquired later.

Can't decide whether to belt out some Christmas carols, or a few choruses of Lily Marlene.

Nice! A couple of 1/35 kits is my haul.

I did not get a single wargaming related item, though I am making up for that now :)

Nothing strictly wargaming (dealt with that myself on the 22nd by ordering some kits from Hannants and mailing my Sassanids to Sri Lanka for painting), but I did score 'The Pacific' on dvd plus 'A Waste of Blood and Treasure', 'With the Jocks' and 'Reminiscences 1808-1815 Under Wellington: The Peninsular and Waterloo Memoirs of William Hay' in various book formats.

Merry Winterval to you all!

Having enough lead and plastic to last me several lifetimes (at my glacial painting speeds), I went for books - all on the Renaissance/Restoration period.

Daughter bought me a couple of Ospreys-Fornovo 1495 and Landsnechts. Treated myself to my Early War Brits, French and Germans. That's it really. The rest was non-wargaming related.

I don't ask my folks to buy wargaming stuff... but a mate did buy me the same book about the British response to the 1940 invasion threat that I had bought for Dad...

So, just invested in a bunch of stuff from the Lardies...
