Airfix Bristol Blenheim 1/72

It doesn't say whether it's new tooling or not, but the total of 158 parts suggests it might be. Most of the 1960's vintage Airfix 2 engined bomber kits had around 30 parts. I built most of them, although never the Blenheim.

One of the first Airfix kits I ever painted up without dad's help.

I even painted the crew and interior details; although given my modeling and painting skills at the time, it's probably a mercy that the canopies were obscured by glue smears anyway.

I'd love to see them retool the RE-8 and Bristol Fighter, and that Sturmovik is in need of being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.

The original Blenheim kit came out in the late 60s and had more than ~30 parts. It marked the beginning of the era when Airfix began to up their game.

The box art is very similar at any rate.
