Organised my biggest game

Postby olicana » Tue Nov 21, 2017 10:26 pm

I'm not going to say how well it went, that is for others to decide, but last weekend I organised the biggest game I've ever done - and then by a country mile.

It was an Italian Wars campaign game fought out by 14 players of The League of Gentlemen Wargamers over two days. As organiser I umpired. I thought I'd link my blog post for you.

There are more pics and a description of the game there, as well as a link to another blog with even better pictures.

Here is one of the table pre-deployment. The table is 432 sq feet of playing space.

Here is a pic of some of the 3,500+ troops fighting it out.

I hope you approve of the ambition, at least.

James.

As you say, rare to see so many troops on the table for a non-Nap or ACW game. And in 28mm, too; kudos to you.

Are you going to change your group's name to The Ilkley Lad now, to commemorate poor old Rodney dying?

Sad news indeed and, in mirror image, the Ilkley Lads have suffered the odd unhealed rift. C'est la vie. <b12>

What a fantastic looking game. Sounds like it would have been wonderful to play. Thanks for sharing it.
