No, I don't hate the Perry lads, I've been misrepresented. :D

I'm quite happy for the AP to keep making AWI: the more the merrier. His AWI range is a staggering achievement when you consider the variety. I hope he continues to add all sorts of things to it – it's clearly a well regarded and much loved range. MP is now the less productive of the twins, for various reasons but if he ever does the Sudan stuff I'd like and I'll buy and paint it. I think the Perry twins are outstanding at ideas and creativity and at getting things done.

Plastic 28mms just aren't for me.

What I was really saying or rather hinting at was that next year when Polly Oliver return then there'll be a reasonably good range (albeit one that could do with being fleshed out a bit) in 15/18mm and I know that there is another quality 18mm range being planed as well. Perhaps PO riders can be made to fit AB horses. Now there's a thought. Either way the large 15/18mm brigade will have something to shout about as well. Hopefully the long overdue return of PO to the market place will bring some more gamers into the AWI fold who prefer 15/18mm figures for whatever reasons. This gives us multiple choice AWI in:

6mm
10mm
15/18mm
1/72 scale (with a lovely range possibly to be released – I've seen greens and they are amazing)
25/28mm
1/56 scale
40mm
54mm

That's pretty good coverage for what I'd consider a B or C category wargames period. What the A to E wargame periods are is another debate, perhaps for another thread. I think the A list has just three periods in it.

That is precisely the A list. (Of course in no particular order and IMHO based on what appears to be the most popular considering all channels/aspects to measure against). B and C would be an interesting debate and they fluctuate year on year. The 'A list' have stood the test of time and always come out top.

and i suppose it depends how we class fantasy/sci fi. If we count it in and if we group it all together then i suspect it is A list (even discounting GW). But if you subdivided it then it fragments significantly.

From what I can see from shows, instead of saying just "WW2" you could say "WW2 Eastern Front and Normandy" - sometimes it feels that hardly any other part of WW2 gets a look in these days....
