Help with morphing a Nap unit?

Postby Raglan » Sat Nov 23, 2013 1:54 pm

I really like the 3e Regiment de Grenadiers-à-Pied de la Garde Impériale (Dutch), however they now do not fit in with the rest of my collection which is mainly focused on the 1809-1813 period. Can anyone please suggest a possible alternative unit these can reasonably be morph into with a change of flag?

If I can't find an alternative, the poor devils will be heading for eBay.

Can't really think of anything else they can be - unless you want to start an Imagi-Nation of some kind?

Neapolitan Guards. They fought at Bautzen in 1813.

Does anyone know which units the Neapolitan Guards fought alongside?

Looking at the colour of the uniform, ones with brown coats.

Sorry Raglan, memory's playing me up. The Neapolitan Guard Velite Regiment (2 Bns) was present in the Bautzen Campaign, but not the Guard Grenadiers. That said, the Velites are fairly similar, though with light crimson facings and green cords/plumes instead of red.

The Velites formed Bardet's Brigade of Ledru's 31st Division, MacDonald's XI Corps, along with a Neapolitan Guard Horse Battery. The other units in the division were the French 11th & 13th Provisional Demi-Brigades.
